Have you ever been involved in an auto accident?

Was it a fender bender or more severe?
I've been involved in a couple, all of them OTHER people's faults. My most recent has left me without a car and an insurance company that has YET to pay for the replacement! Only two accidents where I was taken to the hospital, both times released after treatment.

I was involved in two myself, the second one they said was my fault and it just finally came off my insurance and my driving record.
The freakiest one and I wasn't in my car at the time, was when a man came around the corner and smashed my car where it was parked at 4 am. It was so loud it woke us from a sound sleep.
It took three months for me to get my money because the guy who hit my car never reported the accident, so we ended up fighting with the insurance company, and all along all they had to do was get a copy of the police report.
My car was totalled, by the way, it was just a little tempo and the car that hit is was a big buick, and he hit my car so hard that he made his own parking space between my car and the neighbors.

I have been involved in four fender benders and usually it is my fault for following to close when the roads are a bit icy.
It always seems to happen at the same time of year.
However, it has been years since the last time, so maybe my driving is getting better.

Do you have a lawyer? We were in a fender bender about 2.5 months ago and the other person insurance is refusing to pay for our medical bills. Of course once they knew I had an attorney they were trying to play the I'm gonna get out of this any way that I can card.
I hope that you get a car soon. Keep us updated on how its going.

Yes, unfortunately I think the lawyer is 1/2 the reason why things are so slow! LOL

I've been unfortuate enough to have been involved in two accidents. The first was in my sophomore year in high school. I wasn't driving - a girlfriend of mine was. We were re-ended in heavy traffic. There were four vehicles involved. I substained a bad case of whiplash. I wore a cervical collar for a week. Now 28 years later, I still have problems with my neck. The second accident was 18 months ago. A drunk driver pulled out in front of me. I was going 70 miles an hour. Ummm... he was on a John Deere tractor. No I 'm not kidding. He fled the scene and was picked up about a mile up the road. (how far could one run on a tractor - lol). Anywas, I've been called as a states witness, as he is being charged with DUI. Fortuately I wasn't hurt. I hit the brakes hard and managed to slow my car to about 40 mph. I still hit him, and it did some major damage to my car. Didn't hurt the stupid tractor. Just my luck - lol. Hugs.

me and my family (husband and 4 kids) were in a very serious accident on dec 17, 2006. my youngest child turned 1 on dec 21st so this happened 4 days before his first bday and 8 days before xmas. great timing right? we were driving down the road on the way to the mall to get xmas pics taken and get jesse his birthday present and first pair of shoes when out of nowhere a toys r us tractor trailer hits a neon going the opposite way we were and the neon got pushed head on into us at 45-50 mph. no notice. it was horrible. my car is totaled. i had a broken arm, busted up face from the airbag and bruises all down my left side. my left contact got pulled out of my eye by the airbag. my husband broke his foot. my kids had minor injuries....seat belt bruises, bloody nose, bump on the head. my 2 yr old was asleep in the third row when we were hit and when i got back to him his head was flopped over and he wasnt responding to me. we believe that he was unconcious. it took about 3 or 4 mins to get him to wake up. the longest few mins of my entire 33 yrs of life!! the worst too!!! luckily..we are all alive. it was so scary. now the lawsuit begins. we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. no fault of our own. it sucked!!! this was our first accident ever. then we went and bought a brand new minivan in jan and in feb..a crazy, dumb deer came running out of the woods and ran into the front side of my brand new car. the damages were estimated at over $3000. can you imagine. and the deer layed under the front of my car unable to get up since her back legs were broken. she dragged her back legs off to the side of the road. it was very sad for many reasons. the deer had to die, my car needed to be fixed and the whole incident brought back the dec accident for all of us. my kids and myself went thru a lot emotionally because of the dec accident. it was hard to get thru. i am still in physcial therapy but it could have been so much worse. i thank god for saving us!!!

Well ... i am one of the luckiest man on Earth. I drive since '95, i changed two cars and never had an accident. I drived over 100.000 km. I like to drive very much, i love speeding, but i'm very carefull when i drive and never drink when i have to drive. I was caught speeding several times and i bought an antiradar system made by beltronics and since then, i didn't have problems anymore !

I haven't been in an accident yet, but there have been close calls. My mother and 2 sisters once got hit in the side at a roundabout, luckily no one was hurt and the door was just dented. I nearly hit someone, they were standing in the middle of the road (v. quiet road) and when I was approaching they started walking into by path! I slammed the breaks and than they had the cheek to be mad at me! lol Another time I was bringing my sister and her friend shopping and this kid on a bike just swerved right out in front of me! Luckily I had been watching them and was alert enough to break, just pure stupidity on their part could have gotten them killed. I'va also nearly been run down myself too, my fault, luckily the car only ran over my foot, a second later and I could have been seriously hurt. I actually walked home after it, my foot was killing me, but I rested it and after a few days it was good as new....so far I've been VERY lucky! And I'm a way more experienced driver now..:)

I've been in 3 accidents. I was not the driver for all 3 accidents. Two were not my driver's fault and one was cos' he actually fell asleep on the wheel and caused the accident! I was SO mad at him cos' of that. But thank God, all passengers in all the accidents were ok.

Thank God no! Nor my other family members. Except when my aunts car was hit by a celebrities car :). There was an incident once when my dad and mom with my dad driving were driving home after a party late at night and BOTH of them fell asleep....both. Luckily my mum woke up and seeing the drives asleep woke him up. From that time my mum can't sleep in a car anymore.

oh yeah....technically not really an accident since my friend didn't get hurt. I was the one driving..raining and all, we were talking on our way to our Xmas party. And I was texting and he (not straight) was re-touching his make up. We didnt notice the darn sign!! in the middle of the road!! low visibility. no one got hurt, only my pride since i could've prevented it by just keeping my eye on the road!! so stupid!!! and they just joke around that I should've honked so the sign would step aside! hehehe...it was unforgetable, and I thought my parents would kill me. and yeah...i broke the headlights...i'd never text again while driving (eh, still do...a bit..stubborn!!!)

Thankfully I haven't been in a car accident. And I am not looking forward to having one in the future. Although the closest incident that happened to me is a car bumping accident. Thankfully nobody got hurt.

I have been in a couple of accidents with inanimate objects. When I was 15 my boyfriend let me drive and I hit the concrete bumper of a gas pump. After I got my license I hit a sign because I swerved off the road to avoid becoming part of a accident in front of me. I was actually proud of that, my defensive driving. I have backed into trees on two seperate occasions. I bumped my daughter's bike in the garage and put a hole in the wall.

Yes I've met with an accident twice. Both happened while driving a motorcycle.I've actually stopped drive motorcycles these days. The first was when i was 10 years old.I don't wanna talk about the first cuz i always get embarrassed doing so.lol.SO I'm gonna skip on the first.
The second happened somewhere around this year and it was the reward for over speeding.I always get my inspiration from speed racers and i guess thats what led me to it.lol.I got up in the morning and i thought i'd for a ride and moreover it was a weekend. Also i had drunk a bit the previous day and had mild hangover.I bumed into a car, both of us were kind of over speeding,i tried to jam the breaks but it was to late.I hit the car, fell down and took a visit to the hospital.I had got a big cut on my ankle and i could almost see my bones. It took more than a month for my wounds to heal.

I had a couple of accidents previously, bust the worst one was when I was waiting to make a left turn on a 4 way street while for a mini van to pass. Suddenly, a car sped down the road hit the mini van on the stomache and the van came at me and landed on my hood with the bumper ran into the passenger side windshield. Luckily, there was no one next to me. That really freaked me out. The car ended up paying for my car and the van's repiars. Luckily no one was hurt.
