Heck I'll go one better. I had a G.I. Joe. I also had Matt Mason, which I far preferred. It came out in the mid 1960s, based on the NASA program at the time. The doll had a wire frame instead of being jointed plastic like joe. The good part was it could pose easier, the bad part was that when the wire broke, it became unposeable. He had a wide array of accessories like a space station, lunar lander and lunar vehicle, all very realistic. Liked him a lot better, maybe because I am Canadian and we aren't quite as likely to be a soldier.

Nope he was produced in the States, but had faded away by the mid 70s. And they're action figures, not dolls! As Eric from "That 70s Show" (whose life really resembled mine) is prone to saying.

I never did have or play with a GI Joe. I am serious about this as maybe it was not out when I was a child. I do not remember even playing with any dolls for that matter, except for Batman and Robin. They have some pretty cool dolls out there now that I would not have minded playing with when I was a child. :-)
