How does it affect a person after? Can it really be just for fun with no emotions involved?

It is not bad or good. It it just an exchange of views and opinions. I myself have not had any 1 nite stands....but just put the topic up for discussion due to curiosity.

I don't think one night stands can ever be completely devoid of emotion. There has to be some reason you had a one night stand in the first place right? Whether it was out of loneliness, horniness, or a desire for vengeance... there's still emotion there.

I've had one night stands and it's never really affected me like that. I become friends with most of them!
