I started out going to college to major as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. I started on my courses, but as I kept on going each semester, I talked to my advisor and looked in the catalog and realized that if I transferred, I would have to stay in a dorm until I finished over there. Well, one day, and this is embarrassing, but I got to crying because I realized that I wasn't ready to leave home right now. Bless her heart, my mother didn't really catch onto that fact until later. This past Thursday, she asked me if I really wanted to go into physical therapy. I didn't have an answer right then, so while she was doing an errand, I thought about it. I realized that I didn't think I would enjoy physical therapy as much as I thought I would. So when my mother got back in the car, I told her I didn't want to go into physical therapy after all. So now I'm thinking I want to major in either cosmetology or computer science. I am getting help from a rehab center that is close to where I live, and my counselor will do a vocational evaluation on me for five days this summer so I can take this summer off to see what I'm really good at. I will feel better once that gets going. I already feel better knowing that I don't have to leave home this fall.

when it comes to choosing major,i think we really need to take the one we're interested in,otherwise it is very hard to be good.i am facing the problem at this moment, what my parents want me to study and what i actually want is different.i've decided to follow my own will, just dont give myself any chance to regret.

You need to have a heart-to-heart talk with your parents. Tell them how you feel about their not agreeing with your choice of study. Just talk to them. I'm at the same point, but my parents don't care as long as I'm happy.

My main major is elementary education but I'm also getting my sonography certificate. If I could choose anything to do it would be working with horses but I know there is no way I could make a living doing that.

choosing a major is easy for those who really knows what they want. but, it can be very difficult too especially if you have no clue on what you want and what you to be. i say, you should choose a major that is close to your heart.a major that you think you would enjoy and a major that you actually like.
