I have 2 yorkies- a male and female that are a breeding pair. Ever since I had my son, they have been going to the bathroom in the house all the time, they bark a lot, and are testing our dominance constantly. They are great with my son, and allow him to pull their hair and hug them tight and seem to really love him.
But their behavior has gotten to be a major problem! I give them lots of attention, treats, and have tried to exercise them as much as I can along with training techniques I have learned from "The Dog Whisperer". But it has gotten to be so bad, that I am really close to giving them away! I really dont want to do this, I love them very much.
HELP!

Dogs are very territorial and it sounds like they are marking their territory invaded by your son. Hopefully, the phase will pass and they will stop doing it, but you might want to try crating them after each time they make in the house so they understand that this is not acceptable. I do this with my chihuahua who still has accidents in the house. As soon as I begin crating her, she realizes what she has done and stops.

I try crating them, and it doesnt seem to do anything! :-( My female knows she did somthing wrong the moment she does it, as she runs and hides. My male only gets upset when I discover his little puddles. I have even tried to put the poo in the kennel with them, but that does nothing.
I am thinking of hiring a trainer as a last resort before finding a home with no children for them.
