To kiss or not to kiss??!!!

My hubby is sick. I mean REALLY sick. He's got the flu big time and is on all kinds of meds from the doc. Thing is, he still wants to be affectionate and kiss and make out, etc. I'm not really keen on doing it as I don't want to get sick! He's already passed some germs on to our kid who now has a runny nose with green snort! Last thing I need is to get sick too. It's bad enough I have to now take care of a little sick one and a big sick one...who has now turned into a big baby. BTW, why is it that grown men turn into big babies when they are sick? OK, that's another discussion. Anyway, I can't afford to be sick as I will not be able to care for everyone and take care of everything in the household. I keep telling my husband, when he's sick, he doesn't have to do anything. But when I'm sick, I still have to do everything. I told him not to feel slighted if I am not as close to him physically as I normally am but like I said, he's a big baby now and wants lots of cuddles and affection!! So, how???!!!! To get close and risk getting sick or stay away???!! Dilemma!!!

Ahm... why don't you try to tell him that you don't feel to kiss him because he is sick. Try to explain about what you feel, if he really loves you and carefor your welfare he is going to consider your health besieds I know that you want him to be taken care of you right? It is not worht it if the two of got sick at the same time. Just try to compensate what you two have missed when is sick. Get well soon to your hubby.

Well, I definitely would NOT kiss him! Getting sick is just not worth it. You have plenty of time for kissin' and lovin' later! lol. Although, there is nothing wrong with cuddling or just hugging... unless he's REALLY sick... Just tell him to get better quicker!

Oh to hell with it...MAKE OUT! Chances are you are going to get it anyways. You aren't going to stop kissing your baby no matter what, so you might as well kiss him too, lol. So, go for it girlie!!! :-)

Groan...I wish it was that easy! LOL!! I hate getting sick cos' it takes me FOREVER to get better. Hubby doesn't seem to be better any better. I think he needs to go back to the doc. I don't have to worry about my little one cos' he doesn't like kissing me and loving on me! Usually, I'm the one having to chase him down to kiss him. LOL!!!

I had to laugh when I read this discussion. Usually. I'm the one that wants to kiss and cuddle when I'm sick and my hubby wants nothing to do with me. I can understand where he's coming from. I get to stay at home with the kids while he goes to work, which means that I get to nap/rest if I need to and he doesn't. I'm not purposely trying to get him sick; but I think when I'm not feeling well that's when I like to be cuddled the most since that makes me feel better. So I say, give in!! The others are right, you'll probably catch the cold from your child anyway so you may as well give your husband some lovin'!! *LoL*

If I were you, I would still kiss my husband even if he's got the flu. Come on, just give in. Just remember to take Vitamin C to strengthen your immune system. Just do it! ;-)

oh im really sure you are able to let him know/ understand that you might get the same if ever you get too affectionate and it can be really yucky too. hehe im sure you love him but since he is sick, he's really got to get well first.

i would rather stay close. imagine this is you are the one who is sick and he doesnt want to get near you.... a lonely feeling that is right? well since he has spread out the germs uncontrolably then what the heck. the family that stays together goes sick together.

Sorry to get in on this discussion so late....and I hope that you did not end up getting sick.....I am responding because I am concerned that your child has an infection....if the discharge from his nose is green or yellow in color...he needs an antibiotic..... It is difficult being the "Mommy" and being sick...nothing stops for us; does it hun!!!! I am glad that your husband is home now for there to even be a discussion topic of this nature. I am married to a Disabled Vietnam Veteran who did a tour with the Marine Corp. and another with the Army.....I have the greatest respect for all of our Military Families..... Bless all of you and hope everyone is feeling better now!!!

Both my husband and child are feeling better but not 100% yet. I've been trying to keep the house as clean as possible. Lots and lots of Lysol! LOL!! I've been getting a sore throat the past couple of days. Hope it's nothing.
