:) It's lucky that i have been to typing class for at least 3 months. I can reach up to 96 words per minute but im sure there are many fast typer in mylot. I found it to be rather funny and awesome too that some people can type faster with only two fingers.. one in each hand..:P They must have memorized the alphabetical order of the keyboard. So how bout you? How fast can you type?

When I was in school, I was about on par with you. However, since about all I do that requires typing is talking online, and usually that requires thinking about what I want to say as well as typing it, I probably don't type quite as quickly anymore. After seeing your thread, I went to do an online typing test, just out of curiousity, and my result was 79 words per minute. So I haven't completely lost my skill at it at least. =) I do use all my fingers to type.

Funny this question just came up because I just took a typing test for a telecommunication job and I typed 65 words a minute without any errors. I used to type faster than that, but since typing is not something that I do for work, I lost a little speed. I learned to type in school and I highly recommend doing a course, at least at home, to improve typing skills since it can really help increase the number of posts here on mylot.

:D yeah, 65 without any error is perfect. I'm sure with mylot you can practice your speed everyday. Good luck to you and hopefully you'll get your telecommunication job you mentioned.

i have not checked my typing speed. but, it must be around 30 words or a little more. i have a regular surfing habit. Also, i used to prepare some notes or else, by using comp. I have found that when i have a regular typing practice, typing speed rises tremendously. I use six or seven fingers plus my palm (for pressing space).

yeah, everyone has their own method to use the keyboard. normally it's going to be hard for a newbies who never touches the keyboard but as they indulge more they will develop their own skills with one, two, three or the whole fingers. But normally it's hard for anyone without having the basic to use 10 fingers. Maybe the most they will use only up too seven.. like you. :) of course, there's nothing wrong with using 1 or 2 fingers, as long as you can type right.

Wow, that's really good. I haven't done a test in awhile, the last one though was a couple of years ago and I was at 54wpm, and I thought that was pretty fast, lol. I have to use both my hands and I can't look at the keyboard or I will mess up. I have to be staring at the monitor when I'm typing. I don't understand how people can look at the keyboard and type with one or two fingers and some can actually do that pretty fast. That totally messes me up. I'm gonna have to take a look at the link you shared in one of your responses, looks like a great site for practicing, thanks:)
