What is the future of the movie theater experience?

What will theaters be like in the future and how will the experience of going to one to watch a movie be different from how we experience it today? Do you think a "theater" is possible where viewers get to choose the movie to watch? I think this may soon be possible with VR headsets that people can use to rent and watch the movie of their choice inside a common seating area. What do you think?
See a prototype headset by Toshiba here (look in the archives). It looks like something that Mysterio would wear:

I think movie theaters are pricing themselves right out of the market.
They are simply to expensive for the average family.
Now people are watching the rentals that are out quickly after the movie has fist shown.

I know what you mean. Sometimes, bootleg versions come out even before the movie is released. Yes, I agree with you that there should be something done to keep moviehouse prices low.
