Yesterday I received a text message regarding a survey from United Nations. I don't think the question or the survey itself is real but I really want you to react on this. It concerns every nation. The question is...
"Would you please give your honest opinion about the shortage of food in the rest of the world?"
The said question has mistakes on it. Why?
Because in Africa, people don't know what is FOOD.
Chinese doesn't have any idea what OPINION is.
In Europe, they don't know what is SHORTAGE.
The leaders in the Philippines don't know the meaning of HONEST.
In France, they don't know what is PLEASE.
And in USA, they don't know the meaning of the REST OF THE WORLD.
Kindly react on this. You may answer the question if you like to.

I was thinking in what relation is 'the rest of the world' compared to? It could be the USA, but not everyone in the USA can afford to the luxury of food. Yes, I do think that food has become a luxury nowadays. I'm not referring to caviar or truffles but to simple but good quality foodstuffs that should be staple in everyone's diet. Before we can just grow anything we want in our backyards, from fruits and vegetables to meat products, but how can someone wish to grow a patch of potatoes when he himself doesn't have a patch of land to his name?
I am not going to tell anyone that it's the rich man's fault that he's rich and others are poor, but that instead of continental boundaries, we may also consider economic boundaries as a point of reference for defining 'otherness' or what the 'rest of the world' is separated to. That maybe the shortage of food is not (just) the United Nation's problem but the world corporations who control the production, distribution and cost of food.

You have a point there. I watched this episode in Seventh Heaven. It's about the feeding program in the United States. First, I was shocked to hear that US is also having problem with food. I mean they are the most powerful country in the whole world and yet some of their people can't feed his own family and sometimes even his own self. Shortage of food is a really big issue and we all have to do something about it.

I agree with you that this may be the case. But you have forgotten the Indians , if you come to Indians and ask the same question. They would probably look at sky first. When you will ask the question once again then they will nod their head and when finally you will be frustrated and ask the same question forcefully than would say something like this in hindi , " mujhe english nahi aati hein , hindi mein bolo. " I don't know english can you please speak in regional language. Yes, I can say so as I'm an Indian and education quality is not good in India.

Hmmm... Looks like every nation has its own problem. I guess I should have included India in the discussion. I thought India is one of the country that is good in the call center industry. So basically you know how to speak in English. That is what I thought.
Hopefully we can arrange the problem of our nation. I am not asking for a fast solution, little by little will do.
