I don't know how many others have allergies like I do and are pinching pennies

but with these allergies I go through a lot of tissues and yesterfay a friend of mine showed me a neat way to say money when it comes to tissues. First you buy a box of tissues (a rectangular one) then when it's all gone you put a roll of scott tissue toilet paper in it. LOL! It's cheaper than tissues and you can pull out the amount you will think you need to blow your nose. I am LAUGHING OUT LOUD as I type this...Of course a fresh roll of toilet paper wont fit through the kleenex box hole so use a roll that is "semi" used. LOL. Any feedback on this issue will be greatly appreciated and hey don't knock it until you've tried it!

That's actually a really good idea! lol It does sound kind of funny, but if it works, why not? I wouldn't mind giving it a try sometime, and I'm always looking to save a little money! Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I love it LOL - I hardly ever buy tissues as I normally use toilet paper. It is cheaper and more convenient.

Yes! But what I really like about the idea is the TP in it's easier to manipulate (in the tissue box) and it looks neater than having a roll of TP sitting around in other parts of the house! LOL!

What a splendid idea! I just stumbled on this discussion (it is three weeks old at this typing) and I so wish I had seen it a few weeks ago when everyone in the house had the flu! Gosh knows how many boxes of tissue we went through! Thanks so much for a great idea!

LOL, I just keep a roll of toilet paper handy, I don't even worry about the box. I have cancer and lost out on the treatment. I will never recover from the radiation treatment. I can barely walk now, and I live on $700.00 dollars a month, so every penny counts, lol. I do not use light bulbs at night unless I have company.

I have a lot of bad allergies and I am always going through lots of tissues from sneezing and blowing my nose. It sounds like a good idea, but I couldn't do it. My skin is very sensitive and toilet paper is just too rough on my nose. My nose gets all red even using very soft tissues, I bet if I used toilet paper all the time, my skin would come off. I've actually had skin on my nose peel off from using cheap tissues from a dollar store and they felt like sandpaper on my sore nose.
