The orangutans are two species of great apes known for their intelligence and their long arms and reddish-brown hair. Native to Indonesia and Malaysia, they are currently found only in rain forests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, though fossils have been found in Java, Vietnam and China.Their name derives from the Malay and Indonesian phrase orang hutan, meaning "person of the forest".

From what I know they are also found in parts of malaysia.Sometimes I wonder if they were the last link between apes and humans.I have seen on animal planet that once trained ,they understand human emotions and respond to every emotion just like a normal human would. They are great friends to have.
