It isn't called the hunger diet because you go hungry, but because that is when you eat.
What I do when I need to lose weight is control my portion sizes. I only eat when I feel hungry, NOT when I'm bored or have nothing else better to do.
You only eat when you actually feel hungry, and then you only eat enough to feel satisfied- never full!
It works great for me, but requires much willpower. The longest I have gone without ever feeling "full" is 6 days. Success!
What do you think?

I usually just eat on a regular schedule of 3 meals a day.

Which is what most people do nowadays. I'm sure scheduled meals would be alright, but thinking back to Grandma's 3 squares a day, sometimes too much food is just too much food.

I think that is a great idea. Now I try to eat fruits when I am hungry in between meals.I drink plenty of water. When I get bored. I just read on log on the computer.I try to something that will distract me from feeling hungry.Warm green tea also helps me to.

Green tea is the best! Any kind of tea can replace the usual bag of chips ;D

This is a good idea if when you do eat that you eat healthy foods and not just "junk" food.
Since about March or April of 2006 my appitite has not been what it used to be and I guess I've been practicing only eating when I'm hungry without realizing it. The only problem with that was that I didn't eat healthy enough. Not that I ate just junk, I didn't eat many fruits and vegetables. Consequently I've developed hemorhoids. I'm not going to gross you all out by going into details. You get the pix.
I think also if you continue this "diet" long enough you do begin to recognize when you have gotten to a satisfaction point. When you get there you won't have to have much "willpower." :-)

Very, very well said. Recently I developed a bit of the flu, and I went several days without really eating or feeling hungry. I don't think this is a bad thing at all. My body just didn't need it at the time.
