I am a home person too. I prefer to stay at home during holiday, because i always find a thing to do in my house. I love my house and i want everything clean and comfortable for me.

Hi there swasti! i love to stay at home on holidays. I like it to be spent with my loved ones. We'll just cook a special meal and talk to each other, catch up with what's happening with each other's lives. It's nice because we can all be there coz no one has to go to school and no one's working. It's the perfect time to spend quality time with the family. If you'll go out, you'll have to cope up with heavy traffic, spend too much and be tired at the end of the day.

I like to spend my time home on holidays. We have the money to go out and visit but I am just very comfortable in my house so have no desire to go out at holiday time. I relax and listen to my music and also my husband and I watch television together. On the Thanksgiving holiday my son and his wife and my three grandkids get together and spend Thanksgiving together with us.. One year it is at their house and the next time it will be at our house. On Christmas my son and his family go over to his wife's Mom and Dad. Not on Christmas Day though because ever since My son and his wife bought their house Christmas Day is always spent at home. He calls it his family time together. We decide on a day in the week before Christmas for us to get together. We do go out and ride around to see what Christmas light have been put up to decorate the different peoples houses. Some of the light decorations on the houses are really beautiful.

And, oh yeah, having to spend money is another issue. Being a freelance graphics and animation dude, sometimes, I stay at home for two weeks, not spending a single Peso (Philippine denomination) on transportation fees. Sometimes, it's because I have a lot to do here on my computer, but sometimes, it's just as simple as having no budget for going out ;'o

I've seen on the news on TV about a statistical study about what mothers enjoy most. Surprisingly, they rated "being with their children" not as their top answer. The reason for that, as was revealed by the study, was not really because they don't like their children, but because they've spent almost all of their time with their children that they felt they have to have some other thing to do besides spending time for their children. I agree. I wouldn't want to be everything that my mother IS. She has to also enjoy life on her own, apart from me. She deserves it. --- now, about your question :'D it's probably because they miss their home and everything in it so much that they'd rather be home than be OUT, which is where they spend most of their waking time anyway.
