Why are there so many 'discussions with no responses'?

Definitely, I am interested in responding to discussions with zero response! Firstly because we can encourage new members to start discussion. Besides, it will be much easier for me to trace back the response I made (because it's in the first page!) Thirdly, high chances that we can get best response from the discussion starter :D

I have a few of those discussions and because of that myLot mark them as unresolved discussion. Now, I am wondering how to get someone to just give a comment so that I can give that person or persons the best responses and get them resolved.

I also like to respond to these discussions more then on today's hot topics cause I make someone happy with respondig on his theme more then one who has 100 responses. I think that earnings are the sam so...
What is your best topic with highest number of responses. Mine is one with 42 responses in 4 days. For me that is big number. What are your records???
