Ethics or science progress?

In many different situations we have to choose between ethics and science progress. For example human cloning would bring a lot of benefit, but lots of people think its not ethical (me excluded). That not the only thing where ethics interferes and delays the progress.
So I ask what would you choose PROGRESS or ETHICS?

Great post! I remember studying this is business...I'm a chicken and not much of a risk taker. I would go with ethics..although it's not the popular choice-it hurts the least amount of people.
