When i was pregnant i was very careful with all i ate,i said"no" to coffee,i spend a lot time for read all was helpful to know and i said "no" to make my vacation at sea...
Now i see a lot women which will go very well at sea and i wonder if all that sun and tan is good for baby...just a though...
My question: when you was pregnant you find normal to go at sea or ocean or just delay for next year summer...??
As about me i think is not so good to stay at sun in hot summer day even for a normal woman, but for a pregnant woman??
...I am wrong?

I think during pregnancy overexposure to sun isn't a good idea and beaches are quite heated during the days. So,spending too much time at the seas when pregnant might not be beneficial. That said, the pregnant mothers need enough of vitamin D and sun is a great source of that.In the lack of vitD the baby could have weak bones due to ricket, but too much sun during pregnancy is neither kind on the skin nor the life within.

i was pregnant many times and finally have 3 well growth kids. well the last one is only 13 but hes a nice boy.
i didnt change anything in my pregnancy, was going to the beach, swimming, but i never did and do sit in the sun. its much healther to be somewhere in the shadow because of the health risks. i dont think its bad for unborn kids to be in the sun, but like we always say, all is good but to much is bad.

Well, I'm single, but I went to medical school, so I may help a bit there. Pregnant women are hypersensitive to so many things (and yet others are not, especially the multiparous or those who have given birth to many children). Thus, it depends. If you're a first-time mom and you think you have a problem with it, then don't, because you might get seasick (or throw up), or become hypersensitive to the sun, etc. It may be a psychological reaction too, because what you think your body will do to you, may actually happen. But then, better safe than sorry. As I've said, all systems are on the verge of hypersensitivity (not to mention the emotional aspect of it) when a woman is pregnant. Happy myLotting!

I've gone to the beach and got tanned during pregnancy in the summer! I think it's ok in moderation. I wouldnt imagine sitting there all day every day of summer would be good, but vacations and stuff are okay! I am pregnant and still planning on going to the beach house that we rent for a week or two during the summer. It is important to drink tons of water if your spending alot of time in the sun, pregnant women can get dehydrated quickly and it's dangerous to get dehydrated, you can get early contractions and what not. So remember to drink water, go in moderation and you'd be fine!

I was out mowing the grass during the Summer when I between 5-7 months and I have a healthy 6month old girl. I lived on post and the grass had to be cut once a week and sence I was alone I had no choice I had to do it although it wook me a few hours to do cuz I would come inside to get a drink and catch my breath before i went back out. I was forced to do alot of things that doctors erge you not too. I was relieved of the mowing when the civilians took over housing and they did all the grounds-work :)
so for the Question of going to the Beach I think that it would be just fine...as long as you are drinking plenty of water and take brakes to cool down in shaded areas.

when i was pregnant dueing the summer months i stayed indoors with my air full blast!! i hated to go outside to go to the doctors!! i would have my husband cool off the car before i went outside lol!! i dont think i would be able to go out to sea or the ocean and being in the sun like that! it would be a waste cause i would spend all my time in the cool cabin!

I don't think there's anything wrong for a pregnant woman to spend some time on the beach as long as she puts on lots of sunscreen (as should everyone!). I think the sun, sea, ocean breeze, etc will do the mommy and baby lots of good. I did go to the beach a few times when I was pregnant with my little one and it worked wonders for me. Take a nice, long stroll on the beach, collect some seashells, build a little sandcastle and make the most of it. It won't be the same once the baby's here! :)

I don't think it's wrong. I don't know about going on a vacation because of the long rides some doctor will tell you not to go it depends on how far along you are. I went swimming when I was pregnant with my daughter and drank coffee too she turned out just fine and now she is going to be a mother. Have a great day.

I think your body will tell you if you are getting too much sun when you are pregnant.
One thing thtat could happen is that you could get bad sunburn. I did when I was pregnant, although that doesn't normally happen to me. It seems as though some of us experience a change in body chemistry.
I think fresh air, swimming and walking are great, and where better than the seaside?

Swimming is a great excercise because it uses both large muscle groups (arms & legs). It makes feel preagnent women weightless, and also pose a low risk of injury. If you swim, youll burn calories, feel less fatigued, sleep better, and cope better with with preagnency's physical & emotional challenges.

Though I am not the mother, I was very much involved when my wife was pregnant. She avoided artificial vitamins and took natural things likes fruits etc. Other than that there was no difference in our day to day schedule. We had sea baths, went on trips, trekked and enjoyed ourselves as usual.

I went abroad when I was pregnant - the sun was a bit too hot for me so spent quite a bit of time in shade but the relaxing side of it is great and I've not had a holiday since. We flew - going there I was fine but coming back I was quite ill...my baby was born fine though - I think if you are going to have problems you will have them anyway...enjoy a vacation while you still can..you'll have a delightful little boy/ girl in tow next time..good luck
