Every man and woman must find the answer to this inhis/her own heart. Will men/women be good and wise without the aid of Religion ? Have we become self-sufficient by reason of scientific knowledge and become capable of maintaining character without the sanctions and discipline of some religion or another ??

I dont think so because we need some ideal to aim for before we can achieve anything !

Yes, religion is intensely personal. Though we gain religious edication on a community basis, it does not vouchsafe a community religious existence for us. Every one will have his/her experience of religion. Some may turn an aethiest even after the catechism, while some people who never reveived catechism may become a believer in the future. It is possible that we learn the tricks of community life through some religious education, but one cannot say that a sense of morality or values can be learnt only through religion.

I think that when it comes to religion that each person must find where she/he belongs. You do not have to be religious to be spiritual. There is no need for religion for many people. Look at all the people around the world that have spiritual goals and no religion. I think that for some people religion may be needed to help with spiritual guidance.
I cannot really answer you last question because each person is different. Some people I am sure have become that way.
