It is not your time to go

My boyfriend just had a very scary thing not happen to him. He was ready to leave work last night at 7:00pm, and he heard a big bang. At first he thought somebody had tried to bring in as he was alone in the office complex. He went downstairs to check if the windows were broken, and to his surprise he a car hand been bombed right in front of where he stands to catch the bus. Had he been waiting for the bus he would have been killed. The only reason he wasn't there at that time was that he had started going down the stairs when he realized he left the letters he needed to mail in the office. He was in the office getting the mail when he heard the bang. I told him it was fate and it really wasn't his time to go. I is not sure about the reasons why, but he does know that he could have been blown up or seriously hurt if he had been there just a few minutes earlier. Do you believe in fate? Do you believe that each person has a time to pass on? for a rating you must answer these questions, for best response you must add an experience either your own or of somebody you have heard about.

Wow!!! what a story. I beleive everything happens for a reason and when its your time to go you will go and when its not then you have near miss stories like the one you just told us. I am sure it isn't as simple as that I am sure he is still shooked up by it all. Did he still go to work I beleive that would be hard to function after that. My best and I hope he is ok Chef Michael

Thats is so freaky. I have heard of some close calls and I really beleive that it must be fate. I think when your number is up its up and these near misses are there to teach us that life is short and should not be taken for granted.

yep I truly believe that no one is really taken before their time and there really is no such thing as an accident. It may not seem fair to us how we do, but everyone has a time to die.

Yes, I believe in fate, and every one has there time that they must go, if its not your time the lord will not take you. I know my boyfriend almost got killed by a car when he was younger, he told be he was comming out of his doctors office after the doctor gave him some penicilin and he had a reaction to it like he was high and he started to walk out into the street towards his brothers car right in front of a bus when his brother yelled out to him and he got out of the way just in time before the bus would have hit him. His brothers yell saved his life, but also I think it wasnt his time to go.

I do not believe in fate or luck. I believe that God had an appointed time for everyone to die, but I also believe that some peoples life can be cut short before they are suppose to die. I believe God was looking out for him and spared his life. Under other circumstances would he have remembered to go back and get his letter? Or does he normally leave it and get it later when he realizes he forgot it? I'm just curious about this. I believe it was God that reminded him to go back and get it.

our fate or destiny is determined by God. He might of gone back another time and depending on how tired he was or how important the letters were he may not have. Every situation would be different for him.

Your boyfriend is a very lucky man. If he's religious, he should offer thanks and remember that from that moment on, every second is a gift :) I do believe in fate, I had a few close calls in my life (passing out while marching up a mountain, think 500 meters drop in pitch black night, etc) and they always remind me that life is great (cause the alternative sucks more!)

Wow! Holy cow!! that is just insanely awesome!! I do believe in fate,destiny..but i also believe we make our own choices..and yet i also believe that we all have guardian angels and spirits guides..and i think this is one of those times when we have that voice in the backof our heads telling us to do or not to do soemthing like a gut feeling..but i take them as warnings from above..but whether we listen to it is our choice..and my dear,it sounds like h e deff had one of those times that day..maybe they all came together so it was stronger..so he might listen more..i know its happened to me....it just wasnt his time yet..and it very well could have if he didnt listen..I am soo happy for you guys..and im glad he listened to the voices in his head..lol..

There is a higher power who has our days numbered. Everyone has a certain amount of days they are allotted to live - IMHO. We should all live like there is no tomorrow and use every minute to the best of our ability.

I'm very happy to hear that your boyfriend is ok. I know that exact feeling of relief that you're talking about. I'm gonna post about what my experience was with that this weekend when I log in tomorrow. I believe that God does those things for a reason. I'm talking about things like you boyfriend having to go back because he forgot something. Only He knows when it's a persons time to leave this earth. Again, I'm glad your boyfriend is ok.

Well thank the good Lord that he forgot the letters and had to go back. I'm sorry but I don't think it was a case of him "Just Forgetting." I do believe it was fate. I also believe we are all here for a reason. I'm not sure what that reason is, but I do believe it wasn't your mans time to go. Not just for his sake but for you too, I give thanks he's OK. I got the idea from your past comments and the threads you have started that this fellow is very important to you. I love happy endings. Take Care to the Both Of You.

I believe in fate and I believe when it is not your time to go then you stay on this earth for some reason. Several years ago at the hospital I use to work at we had a wonderful DR. He was the kind of Dr that came in when I would call for a tylenol for a patient. He realized the staff at the hospital were all buzy. If he needed an EKG stat and the respiratory care person was busy the Dr. would get the machine and do the EKG himself. One day we were waiting at the elevator together. He told me "I believe we have only so many heart beats and I believe in perserving my".He did not want his heart to beat more times when he went up the stairs. The next weekend his wife fell in the ocean and he went in after her. They both drowned. They never found her body. I sure do miss the Dr. He was sure a kind hearted person and such a good Dr. for our community. I feel he know he was going to die soon but did not know how.

I do believe in fate. I remember years ago (about 20) when my mother was dying I was having a hard time dealing with it as I was only 19. I remember a nun coming in to talk to us and she was saying that when we are born everyone has a book a God has already determined when you will be born and when you will die. I know everyone might not agree with this but I do. When your time is up your time is up. All we can do is live the best life ever.

I really do believe in fate but i also believ that we make up our fate by our karmas . The guy must have escaped the accident due to his good karmas . Fate is a net balance of your good and bad deeds (Good deeds - bad deeds = fate )

Yes I believe in fate! Each person has a time to go, and sometimes we have close calls but it isn't our time (thankfully!). My husband in May 2003, had the acid reflux surgery after battling years with acid reflux. All went well and he was on a "soft food diet" for the recovery period. A few days later unfortunatly he was at a wedding reception and they were nice and made him "soft food" for his dinner. Later he had a terrible pain and started throwing up blood. They rushed him to the closest hospital and for a few hours no one knew what had happened. Then someone did a swallow test-where he had to drink iodine and they watch it go down. That was when they realized how serious it was. It wasn't going down right at all. What had happened was when he got ill, he vomited up his stomach into his chest cavity, where it then punctured a hole in his lung and put pressure on his heart. The doctors said after his surgery he was so lucky to be alive. He now has a huge scar on his stomach. For his follow up appointments we had to get a copy of the hospital report, and reading thru the cause was the original surgeon used only 2 stitches instead of 3 which was the normal for the procedure. Now his diaphram is wrapped oddly, and he still has problems with pain in the area, and breathing. All I know is, I would never get the acid reflux surgery (even though its SO rare to have a complication) and I am lucky he went to such a good hospital, otherwise I might not have him.

I do not believe in Fate it is all random chance. We as humans that want to believe in something greater try to piece together random events to make sense of a chaotic world. Same goes for each persons "time to go" - purely random, just makes things easier to comprehend and deal with.

this is why so many people that worked in the world trade center didnt make it to work on 9/11 for one reason or another. it just wasnt their time. and those people that dont get on airplanes that they are supposed to get on for one reason or another and then the plane goes down. it is fate and if it isnt your time, you arent going anywhere. thankfully he was not out there. he wasnt meant to be out there. how scary to think of the what ifs though. me and my family were in a serious car accident in dec. i was told that i shouldnt have been able to get out of the car wihtout assistance but i did. the what ifs go thru my mind quite a bit. i believe that everything happens for a reason, good and bad. you just have to turn the bad experiences into good ones somehow.
