You're right. He seems to be the most famous contestant on the show. He's got it made, at least until the novelty of him wears off. If he teams up with his sister, he'll probably create even more buzz.

I think he's not putting any effort into it, as he could totally sing in the try-outs - and now it looks as if he feels entitled to be there. Does he not know that votefortheworst is rooting for him and most of the nation doesn't like him or his singing? It's crazy I tell you! Crazy!

It's really strange. I agree. But, I think he does know the kind of attention he's been getting. I think he knows that, even at his best, he isn't the top singer in the competition, but if he performs the way he has than he'll get more attention and have a greater chance of getting noticed and getting a recording contract.

I just heard that Sanjaya was voted off of American Idol tonight. But, I'm sure that won't be the last of him. I'm sure someone will sign him.

thats all so true.if one can make an impact then even if one gets bumped off the show, one will still ahve record companies siging one on!for sanjaya, well he has already got it made,i am sure that there are quite a few record companies willing to sign him on.
as far as lakish is concerned i am not so sure.thats really sad but the bitter truth is that as far as the music industry is concerend, looks matter the most.sure one should be able to sing, but if you sound decent fine, thats all right.but what matters the most is whether you have a presence?
do you have youth, hair, looks and thiness.the music industry is one of the most superficial industry even more so than the movie industry.which is why if you take a look at all the successive music rock stars you will see that a staggering 90% of them look good.there's only a small percentage of people who did not have any presence and no looks but made it nevertheless.thats why i8 feel for lakisha, because she can really sing.she should have entered the competion years ago and now it is too late!she no longer possess the figure or the looks, but on the +note she has the voice of the angels!lets see!

thats so true.lets hope that lakisha makes it to the top, with sanjaya gone i am backing her, lets see.as far as lakisha's dresses go by she needs more of the high collar dresses like the ones she wore last night.that was great.lets see!

I agree with you about Sanjaya. And, sadly, you're right, looks rule in the entertainment industry. Entertainers are always trying to slim down. Look at Ruben Stoddard, Taylor Hicks and even Kelly Clarkson. They were all pressured to slim down. I think Lakisha could have a shot at a record deal as well, but she'll probably also be pressured to lose weight. Even if she doesn't win, if she loses a significant amount of weight, it would put her back in the limelight.

i think that sanjaya has a good chance of winning, like i ahd said before he has all the requisites for a rock idol:he can sing and def has the looks, youth, hair and most importantly the presence.
I have to say that of all the contestants it is sanjaya that we end up talking the most abt.and record companies are not dumb, even if he loses out he still is going tom get signed up.so to all those people out there who are wishing that he does not win, sanjaya is sure to have the last laugh.
by the way he sure cna sing, did u watch his rendition of "besame"?

I think if Sanjaya wins, it will be the craziest American Idol yet. There will be so much controversy surrounding him, if he wins. Although, I think if he's eliminated, the show will have less viewers. Because you're right -- everyone regardless if they love him or hate him -- is tuning in partly to see what happens with him. I think his rendition of "besame mucho" was his best yet. He's not a terrible singer (like William Hung), but he isn't as strong as those who he is competing against. He's even admitted that.

I don't even know who this Sanguinea is. So he is pretty small in my world. Just as small as I am in his.
If he is on television. I have never seen the show. Yes I have never seen American Idol. Nor have I seen Survivor, Lost and a lot of the other shows.
They lack a certain level of intellect that I desire. CSI is another example of this. I don't even know why they make the show. They do a good job but you know what is going on and who did it in 5 minutes. And it doesn't require any thought.
As to what I think of Sanjaya... I don't. LOL

Sometimes it's hard to avoid when there is so much buzz about it...

Maybe you are trying too hard. LOL I am not trying to avoid it and didn't know who he was until today because he was in USA today.
If they didn't put him on the front page I still wouldn't know. If I met him backstage at a hypothetical concert where both of our bands played... I wouldn't know him from anyone else.

I think the buzz has atleast made so much popular and now everyone knows his name,so he wont be poor anymore idol or no idol his album will be coming soon for sure and many people must be hanging around him to share his fame and glory even if he had lost alteast he got his name.

All this publicity is in his favour and he will probably not be a poor guy even when he gets booted off. apperantly he has alot of fans and the recordcompanies are not stupid. Someone will sign him and hope that he will make them all rich =)
I think that he definately should be the bext to go, coz he is not nearly as good as all the others that are still left and he has kicked off some really good idols ..

I agree. I'd be really surprised if he didn't end up with a recording contract and some television appearances. I have no idea if he'll be eliminated or not this week. I thought he would've been eliminated a long time ago. It seems like Phil Stacey might be in danger. He's been in the bottom three at least twice now...

All of the press allbeit negative is a big plus for Sanjaya and American Idol- People that probably never watched the show are probably tuning in to see what all the fuss is about- I think he will make money somewhere-- I have been saying all along that he probably would get picked up by Disney- he would fit right in with Hillary Duff, Hannah Montana- that sort of music. I personally cannot stand to watch him- He drives me crazy! I think it's because alot of other great singers have been ousted and he is still in it!

I agree. He said from the start that he was going to use American Idol to further his career and he's openly admitted that he is not the greatest singer in this competition. The longer he stays in, the more buzz he gets. For me, he's one of those people that you hate to wach, but you can't help but wonder what he's going to do next. He's a guilty pleasure. It's amazing to see him get voted in week after week. It's also amazing to hear about people going to the extremes over him being in the competition, starvation, camping on a roof, etc. It seems to be goin above and beyond the television set...
