pretty much what the poster before me said. i agree that pete is an integral part of Clark's story since he's in the comics and all, but I guess Smallville is not really following the comics closely since they already introduced Lois and that's not supposed to happen yet...

I think maybe he got cut because he is a brother. It is not like any Black people have made it on that show besides the Cyborg and he is only on there from time to time. Smallville definitely needs some people of color, for a change.Just saying.

I hope that is not the case. The actor who played Pete is really good. I think it was because of some contract problems... I don't think Smallville's lacking people of color is due to them being racist. From what I know, there isn't really any person of color in that part of Superman's life. And I think Pete Ross in the comics is Caucasian, so I think Smallville chose its cast based on talent, not on color.

Pete Ross has too. Read the comic books. Pete Ross becomes the vice president during the Lex Luther administration. He also becomes president after Lex Luther is forced to step down. I hope this helps. Many of the answers can be found in your comic books.

an official reason, or what the show said...
well, in the show, he just couldn't handle knowing about clark anymore because it was putting him in danger..and his mom moved...
officially, possibly his contract ran out or the writters thought he wasn't that much of a key character...who knows the actually reason...
