Son/Daughter Staying At Home?

I am a 28 year old son still living with my parents. Now I am here still for 2 specific reasons... one is that I am disabled... two is that both of my parents have declining health. So it's a trade-off of taking care of each other. However I've discovered, via media, friends, etc. that there are a growing number of adults that stay at home with their parents. My question is, are you one of those people? Were you significantly older when you left home? Are you a parent with an older child at home? How do you feel about the situation... what would you like to say to your parent/child that you just can't comfortably say... pretty much an open discussion about older children at home.

I think it is hard for parents when the children leave home. Empty nest syndrome but then it is nice. The house is clean and the parents can get on with their life's after the children are out and on their own. My husband had a heart attack so our son moved back home for a while. We miss him and worry about him now that he has his own place. But we see him all the time and our daughter too. But if either of our children were handicapped I am sure they would be living with us the same as you are with your parents.

I was never an older child at home seeing how I left when I was 16. I have a 22 year old who lives in one of our houses, a 20 year old who is still here and a 16 year old. We are planning a big move and we are buying a house the same size as this one 5000sq foot because we want are children here as long as they want to be. Chef Michael

First of all, thank you for the response! I am curious though, for the purposes of perpetuating the discussion... what do you think is different about you and parents who are constantly trying to get their children out of the house when they reach a certain age?
