What form of OCD do you suffer from?
I am sure that everyone has something that they need to do all the time, perhaps without being aware of it.
When I hang clothes on the line, all the pegs must be of the same colour as each other, so all white pegs for that item of clothing, or all purple, or whatever.
I also will not use green pegs on blue clothes or towels, etc. as I believe in the old saying that blue & green should never been seen.
What do you always make sure you do, or never do, as far as things like this?

Well where do I start and honestly would not think they were compulsive until I sat back and looked at them. The pegs was the first thing and the colours of the pegs had to match on the clothesline so as to not think I was going crazy as it may look to some, I went out and bought wooden pegs, problem solved. lol
My towels are all folded the same way and neat in my linen cupboard and have been commented on that but could not change! And when they are hanging on the rail the hems have to be on the inside and the bathmat tag on the inside! And if not I have found myself changing it to the way they "should" be! Think that will do for now! lol

I thought I was the only one who was like that with the pegs.
I am glad it is not me.
The problem for me in having wooden pegs is that they are not strong enough to hold the clothes on the line.
I sometimes have to have 3 pegs on the line to keep the clothes on there.

Yes out here where we live I have been known to put 4 pegs in the towels after a very windy day and the dog towel full of holes blew off the line and ended up in someones back yard......never did try to claim it! lol

My husband and my daughter actually have that disorder. My husband is extreme in the sense that he has to number his socks right and left (3L and 3R etc etc) with a permanent marker because they supposedly feel different if they are on the wrong foot??? And boy, the world will come to an end if a pair gets mixed up!
He has his own set of silverware that "doesn't taste like metal" and has everything in his pockets in a very particular way. There are many more things, but these are the biggest ones I can think of, ones that I deal with all of the time.
My daughter doesn't have too much right now, but let me tell you, she has to have a perfect piece of paper towel or toilet paper or she will freak!

I forgot until the shoes were mentioned, that I also put my left sock on before my right, and always put my socks on before my trousers/jeans/shorts whatever.

I have to fold my towels a certain way, if someone else folds them a different way, I have to refold them.
I also have to have my silverware put away just so, it will drive me batty if things are just thrown in there nilly willy. My house can be falling apart, but my silverware drawer is neat!
I will compulsively check my alarm clock several times to make sure it's set before I go to sleep.

I check my alarm clock several times, too. Also, I have to set it perfectly. Like, if it's 12:00 and I accidentally set it to 12:01, I have to reset it again.
Some of my other habits are checking repeatedly to make sure doors are locked (if they're supposed to be, of course). And if I'm writing something and it looks the teeniest bit sloppy, I erase it and rewrite it again. I could write & erase & rewrite one word about 10 times if I have to.

To tell you the truth, it is kind of refreshing to know that I am not alone in all of this. I however am not taking any medication for OCD, but I believe that in all of my 39 years, I have suffered with varied forms of OCD the better part of my life. It is not an easy thing to deal with, but here a couple of things that I need to do. I have to have things facing a certain way, what with drawers and pantry shelves and the like. It takes me a while just to make a simple bed, because I need to check over and over again to make sure both sides are even where the sheets and blankets are concerned. I feel that this type of behavior could certainly impede one with better things to do. I realize I am doing this and know that it seems kind of ridiculous but like any habit like smoking(which I do not do),it is hard to stop.

I agree with you we all have our obsessions and each one of us do have soem compulsive behaviors which we can not get rid of. Mine could be washing my hands twice, I hve to wash my hands with soap twice each time I have to do so and I frequently wash them but each time apply soap twice. If I touch a dusting cloth I have tro wash them before I can touch anything else. Same after flushing the toilet too.I fiond it gross if person does not wash their hands after flushing the toilet.
another could be I can not sleep if my bed sheet is crumpled. Bed has to be nicely made and door has to be closed before I can sleep in a room.

I am not consciously aware of suffering from any forms of OCD but I am sure to have several subliminal habits as it is human nature! I guess it depends if you would call superstitions a form of OCD in a sense as well..... I will always remove shoes on a table for example and get quite distressed if I see them there. I am the same when I see an umbrella opened indoors! If this is a form of OCD then sign me up to the register!

im not really familiar with these types of behavior but given yopur example and i read some of these in the net... i guess im like that too... i use the same color of new hangers for my nice clothes and the old hangers for my home clothes... i check all locks before i leave the house and see to it that i have unplugged all the appliances that needs to be unplugged... but i confess that im somewhat an impulsive person... i buy things impulsively which i know is really bad but if i can help it, i won't...

the most interesting question for me would be: do you consider your OCD to be a disease and fight against it or you say, its just a little spleen, thats me? i have also OCD, all my cds for example has to be exactly in the some position. besides that they have to be sorted by artist and music style. the clothes of my children are sorted by colors in the wardrope and many things more. I have three little children in home, and to keep this order is nearly impossible, and i feel that my husband and the children suffer about this order everywhere. Do you think you and me are sick?

I can't sleep if my bedsheet is wrinkled even a slightest bit. I'll get itchy and hot all over even if I had the aircon on full blast..even if I had on a silk sheet.
If one of my things, may it be a book or a hair clip, is out place, I would instantly know because the room would feel smaller and warm.
I don't know if this is OCD... but everyday of my life, I struggle to keep my things organize and neat otherwise I can never rest comfortably

That doesn't sound like OCD at all. It sounds more like a perfectionist. If you were to worry about it all day until it was perfect then it would be OCD. Not everyone has OCD but some people just say they do to explain things that they do. There is a term or illness for everything today and it's redicules.
I myself do have a little bit of OCD. I count the steps up and down in my apartment building. If I don't get it right I will take them again until I do. I also have to push the walk button 4 times. I don't know why but it is always 4 times with things for me. If I don't get it right I do it till I do. I also get really nervous/upset if I think I left something behind, like when I go on a trip.
I even have a little dance to check my pockets. Wallet, comb (right front pocket) coin purse, keys (left front pocket) key (back left pocket. If I can't feel one I get nervous until I reach into my pocket and reassure myself it's there. I even drove back to a park in the middle of the night when I couldn't find my coin purse.

That is so funny. I had a friend that used to do the same with her clothes pegs and it really took a lot of thinking on her behalf (and jibing from her friends)to get out of the habit. I am a neat freak (or so my daughter tells me). I must have the bed made and the washing up done in the morning before I go out. Also I hang clothes in order on the clothes line. For example all towels together, shirts, shorts etc. I am probably as bad as you when I come to think about it...hahaha

I do suffer from a form of OCD. It is often very challenging, but I feel that there is a reason for everything. I try to stay strong when it comes to OCD attacks. I try to fight them, because I know in my mind, I am being too compulsive and too obsessive. I am just not very successful. I clean a lot. Usually, I am unable to sit for more than 15 minutes at a time without having to get up and do something - even if I have to make a mess to clean (like reorganizing cabinents). I do other things too, but this is the biggest issue.

i'm oc when it comes to my desk table. wanted everything in its place. no pen should be lying on it. it should be placed on my holder. no one can change the arrangement of things.
another thing is that when i go to the bookstore and buy some cards, i tend to fix cards to where they should be. cards that look alike should all be in this place, and that on that place. i think the sales lady is happier whenever she sees me around because i organize her stall while looking for my card.
