When my son was 1 year old he stopped using diapers because he learned how to pee in the bathroom. That time, he had a colorful toy blocks. I observed that he'd been able to combine the blocks with the same colors. That was when we started to put our attention on his learning capabilities.
I give him some resources to learn his ABC's and numbers.
When he was 2 and 1/2 years old, he already figured out how to read words. At the age of three, he can read well and spell most of the words that can be found on the Webster's dictionary..and coninue learning.
At the age of four until five, I was really amazed..
He already knew how to do a continuous writing.
He knows how to convert numbers to roman numerals..
He knows how to do add numbers with 5 digits and more..
He knows how to subtract numbers..
He knows how to multiply numbers up to four digits..
He knows how to divide numbers using long term method.
He knows how to solve math word problems..
He knows what are inside the solar system..
He knows the famous scientists and their inventions..
He already memorized the elements and their sysmbols at the periodic table..
He'd been able to memorized a fourteen stanza poem in 1 week.
Now he is five years old, my wife and I
are trying to teach him algebra and trigonometry.
He loves learning..
He is hyperactive..
He has a strong body and loves interacting with kids.
Would you believe that he had not take any school yet?
He is 5 and a half now.
I am going to enroll him to a good school now. He already took the assessment exam and passed, they said he is qualified to Grade 2. And if ever he will do well, he'll be accelerated to higher level.

Congrats on having a bright child! I also think that you are handling it very well, not having put him into school early and just letting him learn at home, I believe that it is a very bad idea for small children to be sent off to school.
I have had several people tell me that my son is advanced (not as much as yours!) because he is 16 months old and can talk in complete sentences and understand far more than many children his age.I guess we won´t know until he is a bit older, but for now, I enjoy watching him learn and wouldn´t dream of putting him in school too early.
