I believe that getting the star comes from being a member and participating until your activity number (after your name) reaches 100 through discussions and responding to others' discussions. The star actually shows your reputation, which is calculated by your number of best responses and the ratings that other users give you for your responces.

You will get your star after your 100th post on myLot. It reflects the way that other posters have rated your posts. This will have a lot to do with how many friends you might have, and how controversial you might be. If you, say, enter a Christian thread and espouse some other form of beliefs, you are going to be nailed by some. The same would apply if you entered a thread on J-Lo and said her music sterilized frogs at 200 yards. I have a fair amount of contempt for the star rating. It has very little with the quality of your posting but rather the popularity of what you are claiming. It rather reminds me of high school cliques and I think I have gotten over that some time ago. I may shoot for a 1.;)

We shouldn't rate someone negatively just because his or her answer is not what we wanted to. As long as his or her post is meaningful, even if it is not what you expected, should be rated positively. Negative rating should be given to those who posts worthless messages.

yeah sometimes people here mark the best response or rate others because they are friends. so highschool when everbody sticks to their gand even if they know it's stupid. but it's not right to give a negative writing because you have different opinions. are we going to have a discussion if all our opinions are the same?

^The responses above pretty much sums it up. Keep posting until the number next to your avatar reached 100 and then you start to see your star rating. Ten is the highest you can get. To increase your rating or reputation, you have to rate other people who have responded to your discussion. Hope this helps!

Just work little more so that the number inside the braces reaches to 100 and soon you will see the star above your username. The star will have some number inside and this number means your reputation in mylot community. All these is related to your input in mylot and the quality you wrote in your discussions and responses or the comments you sent. Just continue working sincerely and all these things settle by there own and nevr bother too much towards this. All the best from oarnamav/

The star means your reputation number. The highest is ten. You'll be able to see it after you made one hundred posts. This number will go up or down depending on the rate given to you by us, my lot users. You may increase your reputation by providing meaningful replies or meaningful posts. So, let's be responsible and get high reputation. The number besides your name is the total number of posts you have contributed to my lot. Well, it doesn't tell us that your posts are meaningful. It's just, to inform everybody that you are active and you are always participating at my lot. Have a nice day and enjoy!

hi emjay! Welcome to Mylot, same thing with you im a newbie here in mylot and going back to your question "How do you get the star?" just like in school if you've done a great job you get a star right? here in mylot the star with the no. (rate) on it signifies the rate of mylot community rates on your discussions/responses, our aim here is to make each post/discussion as quality as we can. You'll be able to get a star starting on your 100th post and the rate ranges between 1-10 and 10 being the highest rate. Please read the FAQ's at the bottome of the webpage for more info. Best of luck to everyone..

after your mylot rating changes to atleast 100, the number beside your login name, you get a star. It is most probably accirding to ur activity and all.

Atleast you have to submit 100 posts or attain '100' marks to get a star. Numbers in between the starts show the reputation of a member. Higher the number, the greter is the reputation of the member on mylot. You have to keep on submittign replies to discussions of your interests before you touch 100, then you will get a star.

Hi emjay, Your the second person to ask the similar question lol. All good though. First off, that star there represents the number of discussions you posts, and you get one as soon as you post 100 discussions... :)
