picking dogs

I love going to the shelter. My newest addition came from the shelter and he is a full blooded black mouth cur dog. I've had him a little over a month and he is the best dog ever. He is learning so fast and is very friendly with everyone. Shelter dogs are the way to go.

I would go to the local SPCA, to many puppy mills out there are supporting pet stores and to me they are expensive and there is little to not choices. I would also have a better choice at the SPCA fpr they have a strict regulation on the demeaner of the dog. Also to could the dog there are 3 key features, looks, interation and comfortability in certain environments. I have heard people choose onl on looks but to me if the dog can lay down next to me or even on my lap while testing him.her out then I know they are the one for me.

When we wanted a dog we went to the lost dogs home. There was a lot of lovely dogs there to choose from and we ended up with a very cute shetland collie. They only keep the dogs for a short period of time and our dog was 2 days away from the deadline. We also got 2 cats from the lost dogs home over the years.

I agree with you. The dog pound and shelters are overloaded with dogs that would make good pets. They need people who will love and cherish them. They make excellent pets.

It depends on what our plans for the dog are. We show Great Danes so we're very picky about buying from just the right breeder. For "just" a pet (not that they're "just" anything, right???? LOL) we've always had dogs in need come to us. If we ever wanted another we'd definitely go to the shelters and rescues! Never never never ever buy a dog from a petshop!! I worked at one when I was young and all the horrible things they say about them are true!!

ill go for dog shelter.. there r many funny n cute poor dogs there..
