Here in Philippines..we have the incominv May 2007 elections and we all know that most of the candidate for election was giving money to people to vote for them??? Do you think that was the right way..or not?? Do you think that people should vote to people who give money for them in exchange of thier vote even if they know that they are not capable enough for that position??? What are views about politics..?? Share your thoughts please??

This is one of the biggest problems our political system is really facing since time forgotten. What drives these candidates to use money as the primary tool to get elected? I think it is because voters are demanding money and other goodies from the candidates. Who would ever use money if it is possible to get elected without the financial enticements? Candidates are not crazy to distribute money/goodies if they know voters will repudiate them if they do so.
Talk to any honest candidates and they will honestly confess how expensive it is to get elected in our land. though money is not always a guarantee for any position, certainly without it you are already left out in the race from the very beginning.
For as long as voters accept and even demand money, candidates will always yield to that demand.
Therefore, we need more mature and honest voters. Where can we find a substantial number of them? I donot know.
