How old is your computer?

Are you one of these people who has to have the latest and greatest? Or do you stick with your ancient P1 until it croaks? My computer is a year and a half old, but it works just fine! I prefer to get my money´s worth out of my machinery, so I just wait until I absolutely have to get rid of it.

my computer is from 2000, it was a gift - the one I was using before I received it was from 1995. my son keeps telling me how useless my pc is that I need a new one - but shoot I may still be paying for that 1995 one! well, probably not but it was over $3000 and is now too slow and arcaic to do anything on once I connect to the internet. I just can not see putting out this much money every year to year and a half. granted they are a lot less expensive now for a lot more machine, but still too much for me to handle.

No, not really because what is the latest and greatest when it comes to electronic and technology.....few months later it will be old with more sofisticated technology. The computer that I'm using now is 6 months old....I have to changed the old one (almost 5 years old) since desperate to have its retired....the screen totally blank. And I'll use this new one to its max....

My computer is 3 yrs old, gift for me by my sister after I grduatedin college. There's a lot of faster computer now, its a trend, getting faster and faster and more exciting. But why do I care, Im happy with my old comp. and it doesn't give me headache, although its inevitable that it may malfunction, I still can fix it and I can still use it, not reasonable to buy new one.

Last time i have a computer that 7 years old, it is a AMD computer and its running fine with 8MB 3D card , but cannot support most of the game nowaday due to the hardware specification. So i have bought another new computer since 2 months ago, i am quite satisfy with this new one. Its also a AMD computer :)

Myself using P$ for last 4 years some accessories have to be changed but still using the same computer and it's working fine. Computers today are so fast developing that if you go for upgrades and latest versions you have to spend lot of money and every now and then there is a new product to increase some capability in computing. I evaluate it in this way - What is my necessity and if my present PC is providing all those then why spend more money. Upgrade it when it is backdated and can't cope up with presently running programs both online and offline.

I do tend to replace my system far more frequently than I need to do, simply because I spend a vast amount of time on my computer and always want something better. My current system is a Pentium 4 processor running at 3 Ghz, with 1 Gb RAM and a 150 Gb hard drive. I have been thinking about the new Dual Core processors, but I cannot really justify upgrading so soon. To be honest, the previous system that I passed on to a friend was a Pentium 4 running at 1.8 Ghz and was more than adequate for my needs.
