There is so much opinion about UAN. Some of them agree and some of them disagree. Even lot of teachers disagree about UAN, 'cause they think UAN can't guarantee how smart the student is. Well in my opinion i think UAN is good but UAN isn't standars for national graduation. Education in Indonesia has not smooth yet, and just like SPMB, "luck" do have a role for this!

Yes, the UAN cannot guarantee to measure how smart the student is. However it is a standardized test. So that means that everyone is on level footing at the start.
Even though standardized testing is not always the best way to measure things (it doesn't measure hard work, creativity, use of language for example), there is not another good method to do this.
Any other method is prone to manipulation. And we know that there's so much manipulation in Indonesia :). For example, if instead of UAN, we use report scores to measure "intelligence", then all school and all teachers (well, maybe 80%) will give their students really high scores to show how smart their students are. Even if the student do not deserve it.
Unfortunately no matter how much UAN sucks, it's the best thing we've got so far.

yes yes yes,,
we can imagine how poor the situation of students who didn't get enough education!
in sidoarjo because the Mud, in jogja because of the earthquake,, they all didn't get enough education, it's kinda hard for them to prepare them self for this UAN!

That's a good point regarding those people in jogja and sidoarjo. So do you think there should be a different test/measurement for them?

Hmm.. I don't bother if there is UAN or not. Because I think UAN is more easier than the test from my school. hehe.. I disagree with UAN just because we can't know what number we are false.. and they can be wrong and make some students fail!
I agree that the UAN can't become standard for national graduation. because they don't exactly know our skill right? like me.. all my friends said that UAN for mathematic yesterday is very easy! and not same for some students in other school..

Isn't that the point of standardization though. Having the UAN as the standard for national graduation is basically saying.. if you've passed high school then you should know this this and that.
Now some schools may be better than others. So it's easy for them to pass. For students in other school, it may be harder. But the whole point is still to standardize the knowledge, that is all graduating high school students must have some sort of knowledge.

I have an idea about this. First is UAN is only for standard review and not to pass senior high school. So if someone only got 5% he still pass high school. Now this standard review is use to enter university or apply for a job with non college degree. Then if the universities or company want to recruit they only just make psichological test as a secondary consideration. How about it?
