Hi! (Nutshell description): I'm a expat employed by a UK based firm. i had a discussion surrounding their offer about 3 months ago during which i have stated that the salary been offered would not sastain my family in the uk. My employer indicated that they would not pay more. I since have successfully secured another oppertunity abroad. I gave notice as required by contract and now 3 days before completing my work I have been informed that my pay for the last month will not be payed over into my account. My employer's contract requires me to pay back an disclosed amount should I end my employment prematurely. I have been furnished with a bill for the latter. I have forwarded an e-mail to my HR department requesting whether i can pay this amount off over a period of three months. No response just ... your not getting paid.

Since you have taken another offer, couldn't you just complete the next three days and get paid for them? I am sure the new company will wait a few days to have you on staff. That seems like the best soultion.
If you knew ofhaving to pay back the disclosed amount, why did you not just finish out the last three days, then quit?
