There is no best programming language. It's all depends on what task you have to do. You want to program desktop applications ? Then Delphi or C++ is an excellent choice. You want to develop dynamic web pages ? Then Java, PHP, ASP or ASP.Net is the best languages you could use.

I agree 100%. Depending on the task at hand, choose your programming language.

Java for me is the best programming language. In the market, .net and java programmers are highly paid but Java i think is more object oriented than .net.
Out of topic, we have openings for java programmers. Fresh graduates are very much welcome... Just send me a note and I'll provide you the details.

I think C++ is the better programming language, which is the most powerful tools in this language. VB, JAVA are also available now a days for programming but in my view C++ is the better.

In my opinion, there's really no best programming language. Each of them has their own strength and weaknesses. I think the best way to look at it is to look at the market as what the thread starter said.

This is a good topic. As far as versatility goes, I'd say C++ is King of the Hill. As far as the market goes, I understand that VB is the most widely used, followed by Cobol.

I think it's java. in a way it's pretty slow but the fact that it can be compiled to run on different platform is a great idea. like a universal language. well maybe they can get it running more fast. in my own personal opinion i think java is slow because the syntax are very long and the virtual machine makes interpreting the program more slower.
