Yes Indian music is very relaxing and it definitely makes my head sway. It also defines Indian culture and has developed within a very complex interaction between different peoples od different races and culture. Indian classical music is a complex and an exciting field.Its understanding easily consumes an entire lifetime.

Couldn't agree with you anymore. Music itself is an infinite ocean. In the Indian music is a sea(does the infinity count here too....LOLZ), understanding it can take a life time, or more. Many great veterans, who are masters in Indian classical, still learn new things everyday......

I like the rhythms. Western culture seem to be using the indian vibes alot lately and i'm digging it. They use it in R&B (RKelly), Hip Hop (Punjab MC), Dancehall ( Coolie Dance Riddim). I only know about Ravi Shankar though. My father has the records (i'm not Indian)

Thank you. I appritiate you goodwill towards it, even though you are not Indian hehe. But actually, nationality does not efect the taste in music right? As for me, I listen to English music, also, French, and Latin.
You dad has Ravi Shankar Records? woah they are hard to find these days.....

I can't say much. Haven't heard much. I heard songs from bands like stringz etc, but if didn't mean those, tell about them and i'll download and try them..........Thanks for posting....

I don't know the names I just like the music. we had some indian people that came to one of our festivals any they were playing this funny looking flutes not like regular flutes but It sounded so beautiful. do you know what I'm talking about.

is it held to the side, or straight? it could be a clarinet or a typical indian wodden flute.....not so sure...Anyways, thanks for responding.....

yes yes yes i do love indian music.its one of the main reason that we watch india films in my country.Its basically bcos of the music,i think you guys have a viable music industry that needs to be sold to the global world.

complex is the right word. But it can sometimes be so simple and plain that you just fall in love with it. Many have. Me too. Western music also has itz own good points. I love to listen to the wlatz music, mozart, and bethoven stuff....sory abt the spelling mistake and all.........

Hey dude i believe dat every kind of Music have its own beauty...
Like Indian Music when played with Sitar,Tabala,Veena etc for eg dat National Track "Mile Sur Mere Tumara"... It is sooo cool..
At the same time POP music is lively...So i would say it depends on the track u play,rite,,,

Dude. I am not asking which ones you like. I too feel classical english music great. It really sooths me. I listen to piano solos etc etc.You are right, every kindof music ahs its own beauty. Well, due to not really knowing many from India, I have not had much chance too, but I have heard some Samples of the Music, and was impressed. I find it to be Relaxing as well.
