How many phones do you have in your household? My husband and I each have a cell phone. In the house, we have one land line but 5 different phones! We have one in our bedroom, one in the kitchen, one in the living room and one in the office! We also have an all-in-one printer which I can use as a phone too.

I have only a mobile phone. And I value it very much bc it is a means of communicating with people in the world. places i cant go, i simply get there with my phone. I dont have more than just a phone because, the cost of maintaining a phone is high especially in nigeria where there is high underemployment. So, I cut my coat according to my cloak.

We have a land line cos' where we live, the cell phones don't work very well. Often, no connection. I've tried different providers but all at the same. The one we currently have is the "best". That's why we need the land line.

Thats a lot of phones.
Just one mobile (or cell phone) for each person and no land lines in sight, its easier for people to get the calls that relate to them that way and it costs less!

We have one cell phone that my husband has most of the time. We hope to get me one here soon & get rid of the land line we have. As for land lines we have three phones (off of one base) and one corded phone.

My husband and I each have a cell phone, and 1 landline. We only have one cordless phone hooked up to the land line though. The charger is in our bedroom but during the day I will bring it into the living room with me, and then back on the charger when I go back to bed for the night.

What an interesting topic. I live with my boyfriend, and when I moved in, I couldn't get over how many things of one particular item he had. Let's take the phones, as that was the original topic question... he has 2 in the kitchen (I don't know why), 2 in the master bedroom (1 cordless, 1 corded), 1 in the guest bedroom, 2 in the den (both cordless), 2 in his office (1 corded, 1 cordless) and 1 in his shop. That makes a total of.... TEN phones. Who needs 10 phones??????? He has his cell phone, a pager and he's also a HAM radio operator. He claims he has all of these pieces of equipment so he can always be in touch, yet, if he doesn't want to be reached, he can conveniently be "out of touch."
Televisions.... Who needs this many television sets... 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the dining room, 1 in the bedroom, 1 in the guest bedroom, 1 in the den, 1 in his office, and 1 in his shop. I mean, come on already... SEVEN television sets? Oh, and we have MY television set (I had only 1) that is not hooked up and sits in the middle of the living room floor. One of our constant sources of argument material seems to be his hang-ups of money and his idea that he has nothing. Well, that's a topic for another discussion, but even so... this all seems a bit excessive to me.

We have a land line with a cordless in the living room and an extension in the bedroom that is hooked up to my All-in-one fax, printer, scanner, copier. We also each have a cell phone.....My youngest child is four and I am having a deleima about whether to get him a cell phone for when he starts school this fall...while I know he can not use it in class....I want him to feel like he can reach me at anytime.
Since I always read the other responses before responding...We also have a bigscreen tv in the living room, one in our bedroom, and one in Mom's room, and 2 in our son's room--one for tv and movies and one with his game consoles hooked up to it....
It seems amazing to me that we need so much technology around all of the time but with our hectic lifestyles...it seems necessary.
I would be utterly lost without my cell phone now-a-days, as it has become more than a convience..

Yes, cell phones have definitely become a convenience!! Yesterday, we received another computer (for free!!) and now, we have 2 desktops and a laptop in the house. Hmm...pretty soon, we're going to run out of place to store stuff!!!

I wish we don't need the land line though but we have to have it cos' the cell phone reception is not so good where we live. No choice :( Maybe when we move, we can get rid of the land line and sell off all the phones we have! LOL!!

We have many phones her at home because there are 8 of us who live here. I have 2 cellphones, my brother has 1, my mom has 1, my dad has 1, our maid has 1, my cousin has 1, my 2 aunt have 2 (1each) plus our land line so that makes it 10. But you really wouldn't notice it because we rarely see each other at home. By the time I get home all of them are sleeping and by the time I wake up they're already out. So it's like we just have 2 or 4 (if it's just me and the maid at home) phones at home.

My boyfriend has a cell phone and I have a cell phone - our home has one landline connected to one phone and two computers. Rarely do we use the receiver to make calls, it's mostly for dialing out on the computers or receiving calls.

There are only two of us in the house, and we each have a cell phone. We never bothered to even get a landline hooked up when we moved to this house, because we felt we didn't need it. Our computer is hooked to the cable for the internet, which is far faster than a phone line (though a bit more expensive).

we have several phones at home. the landline telephone, one with three extensions (1 for the room, 1 inside the house and another inside the shop) and one cellphone each for my mother-in-law and my husband. then my brother has 2 cellphones for each service provider while i have three, one for personal use and two for the business. that would be 10 all in all.

I only have one mobile phone and having so many won't help me. I think it will just be a difficult thing to maintain so many cellphones in hand and also, I am not a text addict or a mobile phone addict. As long as I have a gadget to be considered in communication, I'm fine with that. I don't need another one for just my extra. We have a land line phone and I am more of that rather than my own mobile ha ha! Its less on the budget ha ha!
