I don't know the exact answer, and you would probably have to do a little research on the internet for the exact answer, but I'm assuming it's because the characters were all getting older, and let's face it, every show has to end sometime. I am very sad that it did end, and I can't say I liked the way they ended it, with everyone moving away from eachother. I think that was pretty sad. But basically it did last for a very long time, so we should be happy that it did! Good question though!

tough one! most of us would love to see another 10 years of friends. But then, the actors were getting on a bit. The programme was after all about friends,...flat mates who eventually do have to go about their separate lives (unromantic as that sounds) get married, have kids, retire to their porch some day. Once a programme has reached its logical conclusion its best to go out on a high. you can't really replace those actors...it may sound idiotic but the faces kinda grow on you. after 10 years its a bit odd to identify a totally fresh face with a character who has been almost real-like for you since so long a time.they made the right decision i guess. No one would want to see the show suffer on its way out after all.

Yeah , you are right it is difficult to find replacement for Chandler or Fibi or Joey . All of them really got into the skin of character , The reason why this TV serial is too good.

There's only so much you can do when creating jokes for a sitcom. After a while the jokes get repetitive, the people do the same thing over and over again. There are no more situation where you can put them into without making it absurd. It gets... boring... Can you imagine ross and rachel going at it (love, hate, love, hate) into their 40s?
Friends was a great show. I'm glad they ended it the way they did. I think they ended it at the right time. The group is growing up, maturing. Life changes (this is realistic)
