I got this in my email and there are a lot of thing to be thankful for. What are you thankful? I am Thankful... I am thankful...for the husband who complains when his dinner is not on time because he is home with me, not with someone else. For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes because that means she is at home & not on the streets. For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed. For the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends. For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat. For my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine. For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home. For all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech. For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation. For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm. For the lady behind me in church that sings off key, because it means that I can hear. For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear. For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard. For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive. And finally.......for too much e-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.

I am thankful for the backaches, the sleeplessness, the mood swings, the pains and the fears that come with my pregnancy, because it means I'm about to become a mother and I've created a beautiful new life!

Congratulations! Is this your first? Once the baby comes all those will be forgotten in the joy of a new baby.

they are good things to be thankful for, I don't have a husband but a very wonderful boyfriend, I wish I was employed but can't find a job.

I hope everyone you sent this too will read it because everything there is so true and contains the truth about how much we complain and shouldn't. Life could surely be worse. I enjoyed read this and in fact I put it in a separate folder so when I'm having a bad day and just not feeling good I can read this again. Very Nice Thank You.

Yes! We have so much to be thankful for, but it's so easy to look at everything through gray colored glasses!! Yes, I especially like the freedom of speech one.. now the lady singing off key.. well, that's even better! Love them off key songs.. :))

How true your listing is... sometimes we forget our good things in life and shadow them with the bad. I'm thankful for my life as I have battled cancer and won. I'm thankful for my children, they are truly a blessing to me. I'm thankful for my family (mom, dad, sister, aunt & uncle) who have been there for me while I struggled and have picked me up when needed. I'm thankful for my friends, many of whom I've had since the ripe ol' age of 4! LOL I'm thankful for the ability to appreciate what I have because there was I time in my life when I rarely stopped to smell the roses.

It is easy for us to forget that there is always something to be thankful for. It has seemed to me as I grow older, the smell of the roses is so much more important to me.

This is beautiful, and every word true. There are so many things in life that we forget to be thankful for - often too busy looking at the negative and not seeing the brighter side of things. No matter what the situation I always do my best to try to find at least one good thing in the matter - true, sometimes it's difficult but if you try really really hard you almost always can find something good about it.

These are very beautiful sentiments. Thanks for sharing them. It gives me pause, and I realize that things could be a whole lot worse. There's always something to be thankful for, even in the midst of trials.
