Ok I must totally be out of the loop! I have never heard of these things before a couple days ago!
I am wondering exactly what webkinz is? It looks kinda like a kids version of the sims? I am right?
I have a 5 year old daughter who loves to play online games. Do you think she is to young for the webkinz craze?
She plays on sites like Nickjr, disneyfairies.com, barbie.com, myscene.com etc
Thanks for any information you could provide!

my mother bought my daughter one of the webkinz pets. its pretty neat, they can play games for "kinz cash" and then create a house for their pets. i don't know if i'd compare it to the sims though. if your 5 year old is pretty good on the computer then she probably would have fun with it.

UGGGGG the little girl i baby sit for is obsessed with Webkinz. She has Three of the stuffed animals and talks about the web site continuously. She is 9 but acts much younger. I dont think it will hurt to let your daughter play at the web site. They are very cute,I just get tired of hearing about them.

A friend of mine works in a hospital giftshop in the USA, and she told me that they sell them there. I think they are geared especially for younger children. I have never seen one myself, but they seem interesting enough from what I have heard...sort of a stuffed animal with a virtual life.

Webkinz are little stuffed animals that carry a code that allow you to get online and adopt that same pet on webkinz.com. It will then get a room, kinzcash($), and few gifts to start out with. Everyday your child should log on the feed and play with the animal. They have to attend their job of their choice to earn money. They can only do this once every 8 hours. They are little games to play. There are also lots of little arcade games they can play to earn money too. they use the money to buy food, clothing, beds, and accessories for the animals and rooms. Their animals have health, hunger and happy lines that need to be maintained at 100%. They should log on everyday to make sure they do what they need to to get them there. It takes a lot to "kill" the animal you would have to not take care of it for months. But if you did ignore it for that long it would die and you couldn't use it anymore. It teaches the kids responsibility for their pets. It teaches them that they have to earn money for the things that they want and that everything isn't free. It shows them that money goes fast and they have to watch how they spend it. If they want something bad enough they will work hard for it. they really are neat. My 8 year old loves them he can't stop buying them. When you continue to adopt more they all live in the same house and have their own rooms. they can all go in each others rooms though. you can only control one animal at a time though. my 6 year has some too but she is not as into them. Your 5 year old would do fine with them. She would like them if she is on the computer all the time. My daughter would rather play with ehr dolls. good luck finding some now though. They are sold out all over the country. ganz didn't think they would be this popular. They won't have more til June. You can buy them on ebay but you will pay a lot more. normal price is $10.99 they are going for $25 and up on ebay some in the 100's. Lots of luck. Hope this helped
