My mother use to cook beans all the time when I was a kid, that why I don't eat them much. I do have a taste for them from time to time. I have got a ham bone and I am going to cook it in my beans, have you ever done this or what kind of meat do you use? I like beans with cornbread, I know people from other Countries don't like it or do you? I am just curious as to who likes beans. there have several kinds. I like great northern beans, you can use a lot of different meats in it. give me some reciepes if you have any. They also make bean pies here. give me some input.

"Beans, beans the musical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot. So eat beans at every meal". I like beans, all kinds. I also like to cook them with a ham bone. I will sometimes make chili with the dried pinto beans and also refried beans. I use the great nothern beans when I make bean soup. Baked beans are yummy too.

I'm not a huge bean eater, although I will eat them, I just don't make them very often. I do like green beans with lots of butter on them. I also like lima beans in my chili. That's about my extent of eating beans. I've never cook them with a ham bone like you described. That sounds pretty good. I'm guessing the ham bone gives the beans alot of flavor. I would probably try that.

I love beans, but I don't like rinsing and cooking them all that much. It seems like a lot of work. But, I like them when I can eat them. I can't usually eat them when they're made by someone else because most people people way to much sodium to them, especially the canned one. My mom has the best recipe for baked beans. She should can and sell them. I'll see if she'll let me post the recipe here.

I absolutely love beans! I too grew up eating beans and cornbread. My husband had never had a been in his life (other than a green bean) and although he will reluctantly eat them, he doesn't prefer them. I would have them 2-3 nights a week and really cut our food bill if it were up to me! My particular favorite is pinto beans but I also love great northerns and navy beans. Due to high blood pressure issues and weight issues I no longer put meat into my beans. Seasoning is done with bullion cubes and a variety of spices. I love to dice an onion and cook into my beans and also garlic powder!

I love all kinds of beans! They are nutritious and can be used in many different recipes. I like great northern beans also, and pink beans, and even cranberry beans! I cook my beans until they're soft before I add meat or salt.

I like some beans. I like green beans. I have no problem with those. Kidney beans I like in chili. I like black beans with rice. Oh, and I eat baked beans sometimes. Other than that, I don't do beans. I find the mushy texture gross.

I've always like beans either in chili, or regular green and yellow beans cooked with a meal. I love beans in soups and stews of all kinds, and there's a gourmet restaurant downtown here that makes an awsome Mexican bean burrito. I love beans in burritos too.

Here is a great bean recipe, my boyfriend loves this one:
CANTINA PINTO BEANS
2 cups dry pinto beans (1 pound)
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 celery ribs, diced
1/4 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced green pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 bay leaves
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) Mexican diced tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
Minced fresh cilantro or parsley
Place beans in a Dutch oven or soup kettle; add water to cover by 2 in. Bring to a boil; boil for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 1 hour. Drain and rinse beans, discarding liquid. Return beans to the pan.
Stir in broth, celery, onion, green pepper, cumin, sage, pepper flakes, bay leaves and garlic. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until beans are very tender. Discard bay leaves. Stir in tomatoes and salt. Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with cilantro.
Yield: 10 servings
