Does DRUGS helps the musician or bands to compose better songs?

I've heard of some musicians and bands that take drugs, actually there are more of them. So I want to ask everyone to get their opinion about this, for those people who are concern about music that much, does drugs really help them to compose better songs? If no, what's the reason between this drugs issue about musicians and bands?
