If you're given $1000 to change a life of a perfect stranger, what would you do?

I have watch this on Oprah several months ago, and it is a good conversation and a touching one.
You may have heard about the concept of paying it forward --
The idea of doing something meaningful to help someone else without asking for any in return. So, if you were given $1000 with the understanding that it had to be used to help others, how would you use the money and why?

I think I would put the money into an education fund for the person. I am hoping that the person is pretty young and then I could put the money in an account that will hopefull earn some pretty good interest. Then when they are old enough, they could use that money to go to college. I know so many people who's potential's been squashed because they couldn't afford school. They had all these dreams, and now they're not doing what they wanted to do because they couldn't afford it.

That's a pretty good thinking. In the situation you stated, yes, there's a lot of person that have talents but only wasted because they don't have money to go to school. I think this would help a lot. Thanks for the share=)

I would probably put it in a fund for a few promising children who do not have much. Sort of like a benefactor thing. I'd let the money gain interest so that the children would have something wonderful when they come of age, whether it be a car, for their education. I would then tell those children to do the same thing. I guess you could call it a pay it forward type of thing.
