e-Gold is perfectly secured. You can enhance its in-built security feature by employing Access PIN feature. They will send a PIN number to your Email ID when you want to login. You have to type that PIN number to actually login to your e-Gold account. I do not think there is any better way of providing security than this one. I do not really withdraw money from e-Gold, I use it for making online purchases.

I am unsure of anything that you have to do via a third party exchange. I prefer PayPal (well I can, because I'm in Canada!) because it's as easy as having a bank account, and it works the same way. I wish PayPal could be avaliable all over the world.

I have an e-gold account and I think it is more secure compare to pay pal. withdrawing e-goll account is depends on your country. In philippines, we use pinoy gold exhange.
