Why do men seem to LOVE the 3 stooges and women generally don't?

I was never crazy about the Three Stooges. Growing up I liked watching Abbott & Costello and Laurel & Hardy, the Three Stooges never seemed funny to me.

Ehh...I don't get it either. I guess it's the same reason my dad watches "Caddy Shack" and "Weekend at Bernie's" EVERY time they come on and my s/o likes "Jack@$$". As my 11 year old daughter would say "Boys are weird!". Actually I think it's because the 3 stooges act like funny, silly little boys and do all the things that men did or wished they did when they were younger. The shows probably bring back memories of picking on and beating up their brothers and friends. Men won't admit to being sentimental so they laugh at stupid things instead. It's like how women cry during romantic movies, usually because it's bringing back some old emotion. Stupid (to us) shows and movies probably bring back happy emotions of some sort for men. (of course THEY don't know that's why they watch that stuff, they think it's because it's actually funny)

I get tired of their schtick pretty quickly... after a few minutes, in fact. The Marx Brothers I like, probably because they do a lot of verbal gags along with the physical comedy.If I want to see characters bopping each other over the head, I'd rather watch Tom & Jerry than the 3 Stooges!

I have no clue. Both my brothers watch them but I cannot stand them. I take that back I did like one thing they made, "Snow White and The Three Stooges" however it was not their typical antics in it. It was well done and a nice twist to the over all story of Snow White. Other then that though I agree they are stupid. Most of their stuff is dangerous and abusive. I cannot understand why so many like them at all.

Someone who feels as I do...thanks. I have a friend who has collected all the old episodes and watched them over and over again, still laughing like crazy each time!! I do get a kick out of some slapstick but not the stooges to me they are so stupid they are sadly in need of therapy.

i love the 3 stooges. yes, they are so stupid but, funny at the same time. i love how they make funny antics and fool around, and hit each other. i've watched them since i was a little girl. one local tv station still run them now. i watch it all the time. its a stress reliever for me in some way.

I know the feeling. My husband watches them if he happens to find them on TV. I am so glad they are not on often. I don't understand why they want to watch something like that. It is beyond me.

Oh I LOVE the stooges. It annoys me that my kids don't.

The Stooges were one of the best things around in their decade. So stupid that they were actually funny to a lot of people. I dearly love to watch them at times; did as a kid and still do today. Sometimes we need something so completely, insanely stupid in our lives to perk us up a bit.

I love the Stooges. I think I was born in the wrong era, I love the old slapstick comedy acts like the Marx Brothers, 3 Stooges, Abbott & Costello, and sometimes Laurel & Hardy too. Even the old Martin & Lewis movies can be fun to watch. I can even say I like W.C. Fields. :)

We love the three stooges because they were so stupidly funny, lol. I guess women generally don’t like them is because they were not physically appealing to them especially now, for the younger generation who preferred guys on TV that has angelic face with a boy-next-door killer smile.
