It seems I have been writing stuff as soon as i could make letters into words and then words into something interesting. To take a boring topic and make it very appealing takes not only excellent writing habit but perfectionist style, grace, and creative skill that both laypeople (women and men) and the higher professionals can relate to and appreciate simultaneously. I am not the least bit good at technical writing for this very reason, I have been advised to scale down my articles of interest so that the average reader, an eighth grader can understand.
An eighth grader ? Is that what society thinks the average grade of our readers is today ? That is a shame. The higher upps assume everyone below is incapable of comprehending technical handbooks purely non-fiction. Well, if I wrote one they would probably be right. I don't like reading tech manuals so maybe that is why I veer towards fiction and the genre of fantasy or self-help prose to read and write as I enjoy it more fully in my life.
Therapeutically my writing and the passion it fuels, is my best and favorite avenue for total Spirit, Mind and Body tune-up. I use my writing, especially poetry, to live the life I dream of, literally. My imagination comprised of desire, need or want is strictly ego in the waking sense while in the sleep sense, I am much more aware of a spiritual essence. Writing wakes all of me up and allows both Self and self to merege not always collide acsuing cognitive dissonance. I am an artist a lover of the opportunity to share my 'tapestry of life skewn across time and space' with like-minded individuals.
This is an excellent discussion to keep going for it allows a particular avenue to be explored by many and can you imagine how many wonderful things people will discover along the way ?
sharing the light,

writing for me is something that i have to do...my spirit will not rest till i have words put down on paper.
i had a dream that was very powerful and am working that into a story and it keeps gnawing at me and prolly will till i get it down
but on the other hand, sometimes writing adds to tensions as i have deadlines etc :-) so it just depends...

Yes it is therapeutic for me. Especailly when I was younger, I kept a journal and would work through a lot of my problems on paper. I had a close friend die and writing kept me sane at that point. Sometimes the only person that can really understand what is going on is you.

Writing is therapeutic for everybody, who writes!
It heals and deals
With deep self
And helps to remove
The odds and blocks
From the root for ever...

I think it does! Last night I did't sleep well. There was a cloud of mind that disturbed me. It still occured eventhough I'd tried to ease it by taking a walk out of my house. At last I tried to write just one keyword, and then it led me to the next ideas. It helped me to configure what was the very thing that disturbed me. Sometimes it happens to me. Though I do not pretend to find solution, configuring something and organizing ideas in writing may be a therapeutic one. Problems may raise because of unorganized ideas, mayn't they?

It does! being on mylot alone and participating on discussions help ease out my tension and relaxes me after a hard days work. Writing in general is my outlet for whatever emotions I have. I write when I'm happy, I write when I'm sad. I even write when I'm bored. There's something about writing that just lifts you up and keep you at ease.
