why is there a lot of impersonators in friendster?

There are many different reasons why there are lots of impersonators in friendster. One may be some people wants to be someone else in cyberspace. Cyberspace really encourages role playing because you can be anything that you want to be. You can be an actress, a singer, anything at all. Some make up their "dream" selves and enjoy getting others' attention through it. Some would like to cover their insecurities. Some people just play with their imagination. Some people like to destroy another person through pretending to be them and doing crazy things. Some people love their idol so much that they pretend to be them just to get attention or maybe, to help their idols reach out to the fans. Some people also releases their wild side through friendster where they can show it without the risk of other people recognizing them.

some friendster people impersonates artist, or beautiful people..i guess they just wanted to feel the feeling of being famous..hehe!

i think these are low-esteemed people that in their desperate attempt to feel or look good about themselves they want to be, and pretend to be another person like celebs...I really don't know what's their purpose of doing such thing!
Anyway, instead of hating them, let's just try to ignore them because it's clear that they only want attention...

I think it's because friendster doesn't control it. How can you control it? Because to get proper id from various different countries is hard.
As for why they're doing it. Well, we know that some celebrities don't have friendster :). So other people makes one for them. Unfortunately friendster impersonators also sometime makes fun/insult the celebrities that they're impersonating (especially if they hate that celebrity)
