The Immortal Honeymooners

Perhaps because I hail from Brooklyn, New York, which is where the Honeymooners is set, I have a particularly warm place in my heart for all of the characters in this series from the golden age of television.
Ralph Cramden and Ed Norton with all of their half-baked get-rich schemes and enduring Alice and Trixie are real down-home people, and perhaps that is why they are still so popular today.
Last week I saw the episode where Ralph has won a fortune only to discover that Fortune is the name of a parrot owned by one of the passengers on his bus line.

i remember my parents watching that show. i watched reruns of it for years, but i dont even think they are on anymore. at least not on our cable network. boy, you just don't see any characters like that anymore! I remember lots of yelling and screaming at alice! that would never be allowed now-not politically correct!
