I'm hoping someone out there can help me. My keyboard is sticking real bad. I hit the keys just like I always have and the letter just doesn't appear as I am trying to type it. I have turned it over and given it a good shake but to no avail. I'm open to suggestions. This keyboard is not even a year old yet. I wouldn't have thought it would give me problems so soon.
Any suggestions? I need help. I'd hate to think people thought I don't know how to spell!

The only thing I can suggest that you buy is the Spray that you can get for cleaning Keyboards with
You can buy it in PC World and I know that Tesco sells it to
I can't understand though that you have this Problem so soon
Did you spill anything on it????

I didn't spill anything on it. I keep all drinks well away from the keyboard. I'll look for the spray stuff when we go to tesco on friday. Thanks for the tip!

I vacume the keyboard, and use a sponge on the tabs. That works out for me. Good luck sugar.

I too had the same problem. My husband accidentally spilled soda on my keyboard and it began to stick. What I did was take the keys off that stuck and wash them off with a washcloth. You can also buy air-duster from Wal-Mart and it will clean your keyboard great. I hope this info has helped.

The easiest way to deal with this is to diconnect the keyboard from the computer and turn it upside down. Take a spray bottle with water in it and spray the entire keyboard, then put it on a towel (upside down) and let it dry for at least 24 hours, you can even blow dry on it on low. Ive done this a bunch of times, my kids are always spilling stuff on my keyboard. It works, just make sure its dry before you plug it back in.

take a small pointed knife and pick it up, that usually works, if not take the key off altogether, it comes off, and clean underneath and then put the key back.

Hi Spiritwolf oh dear I wonder what could of caused this to happen although a while ago I did have the same problems and found that something was stuck in between some of my key letters and this caused the problem and once I removed it then it was ok so I hope that this is the reason and not something else and I do know that you of all people know how to spell.

Believe it or not, you can actually stick your keyboard on the top rack of a dishwasher. Simply (and carefully) take apart the keyboard and remove the contact sheet inside. The top and the bottom of the keyboard can be washed in the dishwasher and just use a cloth to wipe down the contact sheet. When it's done, simply let it dry and put it back together again. I was a little skeptical when someone first suggested that to me but I did it and it works like a charm.

If it's a cordless one, check the batteries if you haven't already done that, or try the reset button. If it's corded one, it may have dust under the keys; you can buy spray air from computer shops for that purpose so give that a go. Or you can buy really small attachments for the vacuum cleaner to clean in small spaces like keyboards. Other than that, you are up for a new keyboard spiritwolf! Hope I was of some help.

One year is a really short time for the keyboard to stop working.Mine is more than 2 years old and still going strong. But from the sound of it I am afraid it isn't the usb connection, otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to type at all.If hitting the buttons hard is showing the letters on the screen, then you should be looking for a replacement.Generally ,they hardly have a warranty period on keyboard and if they do it's very short.I'd suggest you call up the manufacturer and see if he could replace it at a discounted price if it doesn't have a warranty, which I suppose it doesn't have.

It may be time to have it cleaned. Or, just buy a new one. they aren't all that expensive. Good luck.

Eww, I hate sticky keyboards. I think you can clean it out by using compressed air and just blowing out all the dirt underneath first. Then after that you're gonna have to take out all the individual keys so that you can clean underneath it. If you're on a laptop, then you could also take the entire keyboard section part of your laptop off and just clean it, but watch out for the electronics and wiring underneath, one static shock and your whole system might get fry.
If this is a standalone keyboard, then you could just simply buy a new one for a cheap price. Or you could also try to clean it, but it will be much harder.

Might it be a radiowave keyboard? If yes, change the battery or reset the connection. It might help. If it is the usual kind of keyboard, you might need to see if there is a warranty. It is probably spoiled - try testing it on another machine if you have one... if it doesn't work there too, chances are high that it is indeed spoiled. :(
