Is American-Chinese food like real Chinese food?

I can't stand the very sweet Chinese food in America. I heard it's not typical in China. Any details?

qianxain no people in the east love sweet,others don't 5000 years more than 1 billion persons even Chinese people can't understand what is Chinese food if you wanna konw,please go to China youself it's a good choose
