Whats up with Sam in the cast?

Did i miss something on the show in season 2 with Sam's arm being in the cast? or did he really hurt his arm? anyone?

queenbitter Jared Padalecki hurt his arm. They had a throw away line in "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" about hurting it when he fought off the dead chick to cover for it. That way Jared could wear his cast and Sam had a reason for it being there.
