Why did you read Catcher in the Rye?

I know a lot of people read it in high school. Did you have to read it in high school? I actually didn't read it until college for an english class. I was never made to read it in high school. I did have the book for some time...

sabyj7 I had just heard soo much about it that i went out and bought it. And it has since become my fav book of all time. Reread it every few months! LOL!
