every body prefer google... why?

I think mostly the people like prefer to google for searching, can any body tell me why? b`cos other sites of searhing, doing very well, I think.

sfbay1 Google search engine displays the most accurate information for your search terms. Also everybody uses and talks about google and people are gonna do what everyone else is doing and talking about.

Search engine ranking confuses me!!

Recently I had an analysis over some wesites those have high ranking in major search engines. I found that those sites contain tons of inbound links. Shall I conclude, "HAVING TONS OF IN-BOUND LINKS WILL RANK A SITE VERY WELL"...
