APasserBy it's just the color that comes with the numbers. has nothing to do with your reputation number at all. people will mark your discussions and responses then you may get the star number increase or decrease. the star colour is just the colour they assigned to...

APasserBy earnings may increase if your star is up or down, it ahs nothing to do with your best responses. I know people who only have one page of best response and yet their earnings never go down as much as mine got down before. welcome to mylot and enjoy the mystery...

APasserBy yes you can only mark one best response. it's the best, not better or good. the plus and minus signs are there for you to mark each response on how good do you think it is: helpful + stupid - unrelated - it really depends on how you feel and no one else can...

itgalary Its a way to rate the response that your discussion got. It will increase the reputaion of the person who posted the reply. Stars are based on that. Hope you will rate me if the answer is right.

anjuscor you are not going to get anything... the person who gets best response to his response will earn a bit more than the usual.

APasserBy well it won't increase earnings or star, if that's what you mean by benefit. It's just that you pick them because you agree with them or their responses really help in your situation or whatever reason.
