Beagles....what are your likes/dislikes about this breed?

The reason I am asking this question is because my husbands friend has to get rid of his Beagle for personal reasons and asked if we would be interested. I already have a Golden Retriever and have considered getting another dog....

tmakinc Thanks for replying. I took the Beagle, but it didn't work out well. I had a problem with him marking his territory through out the house, he bit my other dog twice and he snapped at my son, so I had to find him a new home.
